General Composites has completed its transition from the ISO 9001:2008 standard to the updated ISO 9001:2015 standard. The certification covers all development and manufacturing activities at GCi’s Willsboro, New York facility; as part of its expanding quality program.
In 2010, the company completed its initial certification for ISO 9001:2008 from National Quality Assurance (NQA) under the leadership of Mimi Lane, who has since moved up from Quality Manager to Plant Manager to GCi President. “This update of the ISO Quality Standard is wide-reaching and provides more emphasis on risk management, project management and continual improvement,” according to Lane. In 2012, GCi added the Design functions to its ISO certification.
GCi’s dedication to quality demonstrates the company’s mission to “be amazing.” “We want to delight our customers with top notch customer service, on-time delivery and high quality,” according to GCi’s Quality Manager Kenda James.
